Our Community Support
We believe communities are always stronger when they stand together. We further this belief by supporting Chicagoland community organizations that serve those in need. We support the programs below who assist in feeding the hungry, providing clothes for the poor and helping increase awareness for those in need.
Casa Catalina Basic Needs Center
Whiting Law Group consistently donates to and is a supporter of Casa Catalina, founded in 1984 by Sister JoEllen Tomas. Through the help of the community, Catholic Charities and its countless volunteers they serve the hungry by providing food for over 400 families each week in the most economically challenged neighborhoods in Chicago. For more information on Cases Catalina and how you can offer help or for volunteer opportunities, please call (773) 376-9425 and ask to speak with Sister JoEllen.
Friday Morning Hospitality through St. Clement Parish
In additional to supporting the Friday Morning Hospitality program founded by Deacon Tim Sullivan on St. Clement's Parish, once a month our firm provides and serves the food and drinks for this program. Each week homeless men and women are provided a free sack lunch. Deacon Tim Sullivan started the program made up of volunteers where the homeless are provided coffee, tea, healthy snacks, and orange juice brought in by volunteers. Every December our firm provides outerwear like hats, gloves, scarves, and socks to those in need.
For more information on how you can help this great program, please visit the St. Clement website at www.clement.org or contact Deacon Tim Sullivan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
National Kidney Foundation
Whiting Law Group is a member and supporter of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI). NKFI improves the health and well-being of people at risk for or affected by kidney disease through prevention, education and empowerment. Kidney disease currently kills more than 90,000 Americans every year, and more than 1.12 million Illinoisans have kidney disease. One in three American adults is at risk for kidney disease. If left untreated, kidney disease can lead to kidney failure, causing those affected to rely on dialysis or a transplant to survive. With your help, the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois is working to change these statistics.
This charity is very personal to the firm’s founder, Timothy Whiting. In 2010, he donated a kidney so that his mother who was dying of kidney disease could receive a kidney from another donor. This picture of Tim and his mom and the other two donors and two recipients in this three person kidney exchange is below. In 2015, Whiting Law Group organized a team and raised several thousand dollars for NKFI’s walk-athon held at Chicago’s Soldier Field. It was a fantastic event where thousands of families and individuals walked 3.1 miles and raised over $230,000.00 dollars for the awareness and treatment of kidney disease.
