$550,000 Recovery for Wrongful Death of a Woman as a Result of Medical Malpractice

In April 2003, Attorney Timothy M. Whiting won an out-of-court settlement in Walworth County Circuit Court for $550,000 against a local physician. Judge John Race signed the order, which resulted from the treating physician failing to diagnose and timely treat a rare bleeding disorder known as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), which resulted in the plaintiff’s death.

Timothy M. Whiting was able to prove that had the defendant physician properly diagnosed and timely treated the rare bleeding disorder, the plaintiff would have survived. The deceased was survived by four children and her husband.
