Bringing Hope to Victims in Lake Co., Illinois
As a truck accident attorney, I work very closely with my clients from the day that my firm is retained. Given the complexity of truck accident litigation, many of these cases will take 12 to 24 months to litigate. Over that time, I will spend days and weeks with my clients, communicating with them about the case, reviewing tactics and strategy and seeking their feedback and input. Through this close working relationship, I often develop long-lasting friendships with my clients.
Giving Hope When You Question Whether It's There
A Tragic Truck Accident
In late 2010, in Wadsworth, Lake County, Illinois, Giselle McComb was struck and instantly killed by a tractor-trailer that failed to stop at a busy, darkened intersection. A native of southeast Wisconsin, Giselle was a much loved and respected 22 year-old college student.
For the next three and a half years, my fellow truck accident lawyers and I fought for justice for Giselle's parents, Jan and Michael McComb. We spent much time in and around Wadsworth, Lake County, Illinois, as we investigated the truck crash, took depositions and filed court papers in federal court. It was a tough time for the McCombs – as it would be for any parents losing their child.
After we secured a $1.55 million personal injury settlement for the McCombs, I asked Jan and Michael to share their thoughts about their experience with my firm. I wanted them to be as open and honest as they wanted to be and so, I was not in the office when their testimony was recorded.
Humbled by Kind Words of Praise
When I was shown the video and I heard their kinds words, I was truly humbled. It was deeply rewarding to know that all of my hard work, and that of my colleagues at Whiting Law Group, not only delivered them a fair and just compensation, but also gave them hope at that dark time. That means a lot to me. I certainly will continue to work hard for my clients, whether they are victims of a truck collision in Lake County, Illinois, or anywhere else!
