Whiting Law Group Files Suit on Behalf of Family Members Killed and Injured in I-65 Crash
Whiting Law Group, under the leadership of attorney Timothy M. Whiting, filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against C&T Durham Trucking Co., on behalf of Rajendra Patel, the father for the deceased Vijay Patel, and Dilip Patel, the father for the deceased Sujal, along with their families for the deaths of Vijay Patel and Sujal Patel.
This lawsuit stems from a fatal crash on I-65 in Indiana on January 24, 2010 in which both Vijay Patel and Sujal Patel were killed when the van that they were riding in was struck by a semi truck driven by Randall Chriscoe of North Carolina. Mr. Whiting and Mr. Goldberg filed the case within days of being retained as counsel to protect the rights of the plaintiffs, and to ensure that the evidence from the crash was properly preserved for investigation and trial.
The firm will also be representing 12 other family members and friends who were also occupants in the van and were seriously injured in the crash.
Upon filing the complaint, Mr. Whiting commented:
“This is an extremely tragic loss of two young men who had their bright futures cut short. This terrible disaster has caused the family to suffer grief beyond words and has had a far reaching effect over the Bridgeview community. Whiting Law Group will exhaust every resource and effort to bring swift justice for the gross negligence of Randall Chriscoe and C&T Durham Trucking.”
This tragic case, in which two 20-year old college students lost their lives and numerous other people were injured, has garnered much media attention in the Chicago area. Below is the video of an ABC7 News report about the incident.
